Occupy Wall Street Events

Occupy Wall Street in short OWS is a protest movement that started on 17 th
September, 2011
in the Zuccotti Park. This park is situated in financial district of Wall Street in New York
City. This protest was initiated by Canada's anarchist group that lead to the Occupy
movements and protests in different parts of the world. The issues of OWS include economic
and social inequality, corruption, and greed that have increased because of the influence of
corporations that is put on government mainly from financial services sector. The slogan of
OWS is "we are the 99%" which refers to the wealth distribution and income inequality in
US between wealthiest 1% and rest of the people.
In order to get their goals accomplished, protestors are acting on consensus based decisions
that are taken in general assemblies emphasizing directly on petitioning authority for redress.

of this movement include decrease in influence of corporations which means better and
